Belle Plaine Public Library Upcoming Events

LIBRARY HOURS

Tuesday & Friday: 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Wednesday & Thursday: 1:00 - 8:00 p.m.

Saturday: 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

**Beginning Saturday May 26th the library will be closed on Saturdays

**All Scott County libraries will be closed on Monday May 28th for Memorial Day


SPECIAL EVENTS

Monday, June 25 - Open Mic and Art Night

Smalltown Eclectic & MELSA present Loud at the Library!

Where: Belle Plaine Public Library, 125 West Main Street

When: June 25, 6 - 8pm

Who: Open to all ages & abilities - spread the word!  

Contact: Maria Ricke at mariaricke@gmail.com to reserve a space.  Tables provided.  Artwork can be propped against walls and book shelves.  Bring your own easels for larger displays. 

Interested in performing?  Arrive at 6pm to sign-up.  Keyboard available.  Professional sound system. This project is funded with money from Minnesota’s Arts & Cultural Heritage Fund.

 

CHILDREN’S PROGRAMS

Arty Smarty: June 12th – August 7th, every Tuesday from 2-3 pm: Best for ages 6-11. Explore and make different art every week at this pop-in event - you'll learn to make origami, mosaics, wire sculpture, and more!

Spotlight Storytime: June 15th – August 10th, every Friday from 10:30-11: All ages welcome. Join local notables for stories and fun for kids and families!

Call of the Wild: Wednesday June 13th 2-3 pm: Best for ages 5-11. Do you like to explore Minnesota’s outdoors?  Do you want to learn more about the animals that you might find on your adventure? Learn more about the 4-H Wildlife project at these pop-in events 

RAD ZOO: Thursday June 14th 4-4:30:  Meet and learn about turtles, lizards, snakes and even a small alligator!

Make Your Own Treasure Map: Tuesday June 19th 10:30-11: Best for ages 6-11. “X” may or may not mark-the-spot. In this program you will learn about map making and create your own “treasure” map to take home!
