Participants will learn three main watercolor techniques that will allow you to build up a flower’s 3-D form; creating subtle washes, lifting paint, and adding dry details. The artist will introduce basics materials and techniques, and demonstrate how to take a basic wash and create the depth and detail that helps the flower look more realistic. Follow along and create a beautiful botanically inspired watercolor painting to take home. Presented by Artistry. Funded in part by the Minnesota Arts & Cultural Heritage fund.
Winter Reads for Adults: January through February at your Scott County Libraries
It's well below zero, the wind is howling, and your car is buried. Need to get away? Well, you don't need to pay for an airline ticket to do so! Stoke the fire or turn up the space heater, grab a hot beverage, and sink into your favorite recliner with a nice thick book. It's time for Winter Reads. Read or listen to one book -- or many! Pick up a Winter Reads bookmark at the library, and rate and comment on the books you read. Give the completed bookmark to library staff to be eligible for the weekly prize drawing AND the Grand Prize drawing at your library.
Early Literacy Classes January 11th – April 26th, every Friday from 10:30-11: Children of all ages and their parents/caregivers are welcome at our FREE and FUN story-and play-based early literacy classes that use the five pre-reading practices of "Talking, Singing, Reading, Writing, & Playing."
