Police Department Mission Statement
The members of the Belle Plaine Police Department are dedicated to offering the highest quality of police service to our community. We place the greatest value on the safety and concerns of the citizens we serve with the knowledge that we are accountable to those very same people.
Impartiality, integrity, ethics, and professionalism are key workings to increase community safety, protect life and property, and reduce crime and the fear of crime. To do this, the department and its individual members, both civilian and sworn, are committed to the pursuit of excellence and vow to strengthen a partnership with the community to resolve problems, and strive to improve the safety and quality of life in our city.

Watering Restrictions
No watering may occur at any address between the hours of 9:00 am and 5:00 pm. There are no exemptions to the ordinance including new sod, seed or other conditions.
Violations will result in an officer issuing the home owner, resident, or business a City of Belle Plaine ordinance violation which will result in an additional charge to the addresses water bill.
Winter Snow Removal
Vehicles may not be parked on any city street after 1/2 inch of snowfall until the street has been plowed curb to curb; excluding the downtown area of the city. The downtown area will only be plowed after being posted by the public works department.
Vehicles parked in violation for the ordinance are subject to being ticketed and / or towed.

House Watch -This program assists homeowners who leave town or are unable to be home and request that the police check their residence while they are away. Simply fill out form with the necessary information and return it to the police department.
Business Registry - For any business within the city limits to use. The police department will use this important information in case of an emergency or other situation that may arise at the place of business. Please complete and return a copy to the police department to start the registry or change the current file on your business.
Citizen Complaint - If you have a complaint regarding contact that you had with the police department this form may be used. Please fill the form completely and return the chief of police.
Ride-Along -Occasionally the police department gets requests for a citizen to "ride-along" with an officer during their shift. The ride-along must be pre-approved by the chief of police and the form must be completed and signed. The typical ride-along length is 4 hours.
Bicycle Registration Form-The police department provides free registration of any bicycle kept in the city limits. This service allows the department to quickly locate owners of found bikes and assists with important information if your bike is lost or stolen.
