HOLIDAY TREE and businesses LIGHTING
You are invited to kick-off the Holiday Season in Belle Plaine with this Annual Event. The schedule festivities are as follows:
- Jingle Belle Bowling from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. at Borough Bowl. Get in the Christmas mood by bowling to Christmas music and lights while only paying $1.00 per game.
- Santa Claus arrives at Duets for visits with the children. Please bring your camera for pictures.
- For those who have a desire to be creative during the Christmas season join Mrs. Claus at The Bake Shop for a gingerbread house decorating contest. There will be three half hour sessions at 3:00 p.m., 3:35 p.m. and 4:10 p.m. The cost of $35 includes all icing, gingerbread, decorating accessories, display boards, etc. Pre-registration is at The Bake Shop. You may call 952-873-2726 or stop in at 137 North Meridan Street.
- Head over to Townsend Park at 4:45 p.m. to listen to Tiger Kids and ECFE children sing favorite Christmas tunes while the local Boy Scout troops light luminaries. There will be a "Live Nativity' as live stable animals await the arrival of Mary and Joseph as they processes into the Park. Mayor Tim Lies will do the honors of lighting the Christmas tree while the West Union Choir sings traditional Chirstmas songs.
- Then you may enjoy a stroll along Belle Plaine's streets to view "Old Fashioned Christmas Windows" with live mannequins provided by the High School Drama Department and the Belle Players.
- Santa and Mrs. Claus will greet children at Townsend Park with candy canes for everyone!
- At 7:30 p.m. end the evening with a game or two of "Sunday Night Family Bingo" at the Vet's Club.
