Belle Plaine Schools, "a great place to learn"
The Belle Plaine School District - a caring learning community of over 1,500 students, faculty, staff and administrators - is located on the Southwest edge of the Twin Cities metro area.
The district has several distinct geographic advantages - its location just 35 miles south of Minneapolis on US Highway 169, nestled within the picturesque Minnesota River Valley, and surrounded by large swaths of beautiful farmland.
These geographic advantages have translated into tremendous growth. Our schools have been growing by approximately 4% per year for much of the last decade.
Belle Plaine is proud to offer both public and parochial educational facilities to meet the needs of our community. The Independent School District 716 consists of Chatfield Elementary, Oak Crest Elementary and the Jr.-Sr. High School. For those who are interested in a parochial atmosphere, Our Lady of the Prairie Catholic School or Trinity Lutheran School may be the school for you.
